Remarkable history & condition! Only 63,659 klms from new! Unused for 20 years!
Sold new on 12/10/73 by Austral Motors Pty Ltd of Boundary St Brisbane to Mr L L Skinner of Marsden St Clayfield. Original registration was OEZ-306. Meticulous service records were kept until the car was taken off the road & stored in his garage in 1988. There it remained until the sale of his estate in 2001 - the house, contents (& the car!) were untouched for decades and were the subject of a large article in the Courier Mail of 10/11/01. A laminated copy of the article is included with the car.
Bought from the auction by a collector this wonderfully original luxury Valiant has unusual specification - a Regal with the largest motor (318 V8), Column Shift Auto, Power Steering, Factory AirTemp Air Conditioning BUT no radio - it still has it's factory blanking plate on the dash & no aerial has ever been drilled in the body! And almost all Regals of this era came with vinyl roofs but this one was specified without.
To recommission the car after its long slumber, the collector has had a complete engine rebuild (as a valve had stuck from 14 years lack of use) - new rings, bearings, valves, timing chain & water pump while preserving the original block & heads. In addition the attractive metallic green paintwork was redone in 2-pack due to fading in the Qld sun. The car has absolutely NO RUST.
The interior is like new, as is the boot. The spare tyre has never been on the road since its fitment in 1973!
