1972 XA GT Falcon Hardtop

$SOLD

The XA GT Hardtop that inspired a thousand dreams. That put you on your path to building your very first street machine. Big mag wheels, fat tyres, big engines, monster tacho and loads of chrome. This one has is all. That same car you poured over in the glossy magazines hoping one day to have a car just like this.

Well thank your lucky stars 'cause your dreams are about to come true. That very same car is now for sale. And it looks like she's just driven straight off those glossy pages and back into your life.

This is a GENUINE matching numbers log booked Yellow Glo / Black trim XA GT Falcon Hardtop. One of only 78 Hardtops built in this stunning paint and trim combo and one of only 7 in this exact combo.

You get two of everything with this car:

The original day one running gear safely stored including the original 351 4V Cleveland on an engine stand, the original Top Loader 4 speed gearbox, steering wheel, seat belts, wheel caps, fuel tank, shock absorbers etc.

PLUS:

Currently running in the car is a 393 Stroker Cleveland with Scat forged steel crank, H-beam conrods, forged pistons, Crow solid cam and CHI 3V alloy heads. Sitting on top is a 825cfm Mighty Demon carby, MSD distributor, Pacemaker 4 into 1 headers and a full 3" stainless exhaust. Gears are swapped via a TKO 600 Tremec 5 speed gearbox and then through to a rebuilt factory 9"LSD with 4.11 gears. The Nitros bottles in the boot are the real deal although they're not connected, at this stage.

Externally, the GT was purchased from the original owner in 2006 from Tasmania in amazing condition. What started as a tidy up quickly got out of hand and the GT was repainted in gleaming factory Yellow Glo with subtle ghost flames painted down both sides. The interior has been re-trimmed in black leather and the car received its fair share of bling both in the engine bay and inside with a monster tacho, Autometer bonnet gauge pod and a Rockford stereo system with sub woofers in the boot and 6" splits in the doors.

The car comes complete with its original log books, owners manual, original owner photos, an ACCHS verification/build sheet and the car has been signed by the one and only Allan Moffat.

Everything under the car has been rebuilt and re bushed and the GT is riding on huge 18x12 custom made Hammer Billet rims with 315/35 Pirellis on the rear and 17 x 8" Hankooks on the front.

You really get it all with this beauty. A car that dreams are made of. Enjoy it as a super tough GT Street Machine. Or put it back to factory spec. Either way, this GT is a dream come true.
