What a treasure! One-off special order XY GS Fairmont K code for sale in Melbourne.

Now for sale is this gorgeous, super rare '71 XY Fairmont in Track Red with Black interior, factory ordered GS Rallyee Pack, factory ordered 351 K code, running it's matching numbers 351 2V Cleveland, and further optioned with FMX Cruisomatic T-Bar automatic, WIND BACK SUNROOF, Superfringe radio and dealer fitted dual mirrors. Possibly the best XY GS we have ever seen and certainly a one-off special ordered car.

The car has had exterior acrylic paint only, approx. 25 years ago, and still presents a perfect rust and accident free body. The car has never been pulled apart, the body is dead straight and the doors open and close like new. The factory GS Gold stripes look amazing against the Track Red paint. And the original GS hub caps are in excellent condition and with the rest of the chrome and stainless steel gleam beautifully in the sunshine.

Open the doors and the original Black trim is in perfect condition too, with the factory 140 MPH speedo and 8,000 RPM tacho framed by the original rim blow GS steering wheel. The car retains its original carpet, seats, door trims, front belts, dash facia and console, it really is superb. And wait until you sit in it, wind back that sunroof and feel the cares of the world just wash away.

Slip the FMX T-Bar automatic gearbox into Drive and listen to the burble of the big V8 from those twin exhaust pipes. There's plenty of power under your right foot with the K-code spec 250bhp on tap running through a factory LSD 9 inch rear. And with only 76,016 genuine miles from new, this XY GS is barely run in.

Pop the bonnet and drink in the quality and originality of this car. There's plenty of patina here. With original rocker covers, radiator, coil, dizzy, fan shroud and even the original day one factory applied stickers. This is an amazingly original and accurate factory survivor car.

Mechanically the car has been fully refreshed and runs perfectly. The engine has been serviced and automatic gearbox overhauled. Brakes, suspension, and fuel system etc have all been reconditioned or serviced as required.

This is an amazing XY GS that has survived without being transformed into just another GT replica. This is a Show Stopper that will blow away anyone who drives or walks past. And just a word of warning, be prepared to be swamped with photo-takers and sticky beaks keen to check this car out as a reference car for their own restoration projects. This car turns heads!

Located in Melbourne, VIC for your inspection. (Ref: 5916)

And of course there is no issue with door to door freight delivery anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.
