1971 LJ Torana GTR XU-3
1971 Holden Torana LC GTR customised to an LJ, cross pollinated with an L34, creating an LJ Torana on steroids!
Full back to bare metal restoration and now one of the most awesome cars to cruise the streets. It’s a real head-turner that sounds, performs, and looks tough.
Named XU-3 by the owner/builder, it's not an XU-1 or an XU-2 (legendary Holden V8 prototype), but a unique custom build that looks mad and goes like stink. No expense has been spared and the attention to detail is amazing.
Running a race-spec 202 cubic inch six cylinder that makes 300 bhp through triple Webers with rose jointed linkages that never need adjusting. Through to a M21 four-speed manual gearbox and heavy-duty race spec clutch with 3.36 ratio Banjo diff with Harrop Truetrak centre and 28 spline axles.
The XU-3 is fitted with disc brakes all round, with Koni adjustable shockers, King springs, sway bar etc.
Cooling is via a custom aluminium radiator with twin thermo fans. Exhaust is through three inch stainless, with ceramic coated headers and a bi-modal muffler.
The LJ received a full back to bare metal body and engine bay resto with base under clear paint work. Customised SL/R 5000 L34 body kit. Custom XU-3 decals in all the right places.
Huge wheels and matching rubber that give this car a great stance and look. Complete interior restoration using genuine leather Recaro seats, door cards, steering wheel and dash, with new carpet, console, gauges, headlining, sound system. Better than new.
The list goes on ... you need to see this car to appreciate the work and inspiration that has made it totally unique, and a wild creation of street cred and power. This awesome tough cruiser will not disappoint. Currently on club plates. Mornington, Vic car. (Ref: 5396)
