1971 Ford XY Fairmont GS 351 K-Code - Ultra White
What a treasure! Now for sale is this gorgeous, super rare 1971 XY Fairmont in Ultra White with Black interior, factory ordered GS, factory ordered 351 K code, still running its matching numbers 351 2V Cleveland, and further optioned with FMX Cruisomatic T-Bar automatic, Dual Exhaust System and 9" LSD. Purchased by the current owner in 2006, this precious XY GS Fairmont is presented in original maintained condition. The car was repainted in 2 Pack in 1996, and still presents a perfect dead straight, rust and accident free body. The current super fastidious owner entrusted Sydney based Ford expert Dave Shaw to install a factory GOLDE SUNROOF further enhancing the driving experience of this rare Fairmont. The GS is fitted with light grey GS stripes and is supplied with factory GS Gold stripes which can be fitted if required. The day one original GS hub caps are in amazing condition, as is the rest of the chrome.
Open the door and the original Black trim is in perfect condition too, with the factory 140 MPH speedo and 8,000 RPM tacho framed by the original rim blow GS steering wheel. The car retains its original carpets, seats, door trims, gauges and console. Only the dash fascia chrome has been restored and an AM/FM Superfringe radio has been installed. The whole package really is superb. And wait until you sit in the Fairmont, wind back the sunroof and feel the cares of the world just wash away.
Slip the FMX T-Bar automatic gearbox into Drive and listen to the burble of the big V8 from those factory dual exhaust pipes. There's plenty of power under your right foot with the K-code spec 250bhp on tap running through a factory LSD 9 inch rear. The GS comes complete with the original owners log book with service records that underscore the genuine low mileage status of this very special Fairmont.
Pop the bonnet and drink in the quality of this car. With a fully restored engine bay featuring the original rocker covers, radiator and fan shroud. This is an amazingly original and accurate factory car.
Mechanically the car has been fully refreshed and runs perfectly. The engine has been serviced and automatic gearbox overhauled. Brakes, suspension, and fuel system etc have all been reconditioned or serviced as required. And the underside of the GS presents in unrestored yet impressively original condition. The car still retains the original factory diff tag as well as a Phase 3 rear sway bar that has been on the car since new. The current owner has also fitted a front bib spoiler, driving lights, dual sports mirrors and GT petrol cap.
This is an amazing XY GS that has survived without being transformed into just another GT or GTHO replica. A genuine Show Stopper, documented with log books and a Ford letter of Verification.
Just a word of warning. Be prepared to be swamped with photo-takers and sticky beaks keen to check this car out.

Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.
When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.
The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.
If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.
If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.
AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
