1970 XW GT Falcon
The Australian public had never seen anything like it before. Out of the blue came a car that broke all the rules. This was not a car for the conservatives. Big and bold with black out bonnets, lairy side stipes, chrome GT badging, a Super roo emblazoned on the front guard, bonnet pins, an air duct and under the bonnet a 351 Cleveland V8. And boy did Ford get the formula right. 2,287 XW GTs were sold by Ford. Nearly 3,000 if you add in the GTHOs. And nothing shouts GT more that the race bred colour known in the Ford vernacular as Track Red.
For sale is this stunning example of the XW GT Falcon sold originally through Askew P/L, Timboon, Vic. This well known XW GT has full history back to the late 70s and still wears all it's day one factory panels as well as it's original Victorian issued number plates. It has recently undergone an external bare metal repaint in early 2020 and this included polishing all the original bright work and chrome. The car is now an absolute Standout!!
The GT features all it's original drive line from the factory matching numbers 351 4V Cleveland, original 4 speed Top Loader gearbox and 9" diff. The current owner has recently rebuilt the original engine. All the day one components are still with the car including crank, rods, pistons, original carby, original 3.25 diff gears etc. All receipts for the restoration work come with the car!
Importantly, the GT still features the original day one paint in the engine bay, door jambs and boot compartment. It also features all its original glass with the exception of the windscreen and features the original dealer sticker on the rear window. The undercarriage is in mint condition with the original 8/70 date coded shock absorbers and factory correct upper and lower ball joints and tie rods still in place and in mint condition.
The interior is all day one including the hood-lining, visors, crash pad, original dash facia, glovebox woodgrain, mint unrestored steering wheel, seat belts, front and rear seats, door trims etc.
The engine bay presents with correct Auto lite distributor, exhaust manifolds, Fomoco radiator and Bakerlite fan shroud, correct battery terminals, factory wiper motor and washer bottle from day one, all original paint, decals and paint markings. As you will be aware, these original parts are getting super hard to source nowadays.
The boot compartment features the optional 16 gallon fuel tank and amazingly the original mint boot mat is still in place. A genuine spare 5 slot fitted with an era correct Dunlop Aquajet tyre is in the boot along with the original factory jack and bag, correct day one breather line, boot light and of course day one paint!
This 8/70 GT rides on it's factory correct genuine rivetted 5 slot rims with excellent as new redwall tyres.

Vehicles offered for sale through AMCS are the responsibility of the Owner / Seller. AMCS acts as the Seller's agent and relies fully on the information provided by the Seller of the vehicle in the advertising and sale of each vehicle. AMCS takes no responsibility for the accuracy or veracity of the information provided by the Seller.
When a Buyer wishes to speak to the owner or inspect a vehicle listed for sale on the AMCS web site, AMCS will request a copy of the potential buyers driver's license or a business card along with an email address and phone number. This is provided to the seller as confirmation of the legitimacy of the buyer and the seller is then asked to contact the potential buyer to discuss the car and set up an inspection if required.
The Buyer must make his own enquiries and inspections regarding the condition, authenticity and veracity of the vehicle and any statements made by the Seller, and satisfy themselves in all aspects prior to purchasing the car from the Seller. The Buyer understands there is no warranty or guarantee offered by either the Seller or AMCS.
If upon inspection the Buyer is not satisfied with the car for any reason and does not wish to proceed with the purchase the owner is advised and any personal details are deleted from AMCS records.
If the Buyer is satisfied with the car and a price is agreed to with the Seller a formal tax invoice is prepared by AMCS and sent to the Buyer for payment to the AMCS audited Trust Account. AMCS also receives a formal Bill of Sale from the owner stating the car is free of encumbrance and noting banking details for the transaction. Once AMCS receives the total payment cleared into its trust account a transfer is then made to the Seller.
AMCS receives a fee of 7.5% (incl. GST) of the sale price for assisting the Seller to sell the vehicle. There is no fee or Buyer's premium charged to the Buyer.
