1970 VG Valiant Regal 770 Hardtop 318 V8
This is one of the best examples of a 1970 Valiant VG 770 Regal Hardtop we have seen! Three owners from new in stunning Bondi Bleach White with red trim, this 770 Hardtop is running the all matching numbers 318 Fireball V8 and 3 speed Torqueflite automatic. For sale from Echuca, Victoria.
Back in 1970, the customer who was purchasing a Regal Hardtop 770 like this one was certainly making a bit of a statement. The buyer was wanting a car that was luxurious for its day, and also didn’t mind sinking the right slipper to get a bit of performance. Finding a 770 Hardtop in this type of condition is a rarity nowadays and especially one that is documented with full ownership history.
Resprayed in 2016 in 2 pack paint, the Hardtop retains its original factory fitted vinyl roof, chrome and glass except for the front windscreen.
The interior is all original and in exceptional condition with no rips or tears. The crashpad has two cracks in front of the steering wheel and otherwise the interior including door cards, hood lining and steering wheel are in excellent condition. All gauges work including the tacho, oil, fuel and the odometer reads 109,369 miles from new. The original radio is also working and has been modified to connect to your mobile phone through an auxiliary cord so you can play all the music stored on your phone as well as making/answering phone calls through the speakers. The car comes with the original owners manual confirming all VIN and Engine numbers as well as the selling dealer Drouin Motors, Main Street, Drouin, Victoria.
Mechanically, the matching numbers 318 Fireball 2BBL was rebuilt in 2016 and has covered around 2,000 miles since. The Torqueflite transmission and the Borg Warner diff have also been serviced. The owner has also fitted a NOS factory radiator, new shocks and reconditioned the braking system including the brake master.
The 770 is riding on Performance Dragway alloy mags with near new Nankang Toursport 225/60R15 front and 235/60R15 on the rear. In the boot is an original 14" steel rim on a Dunlop Steelmax FR78S14 and the factory tools and jack.
Slip into the super comfortable drivers seat, turn over the wonderful 318 Fireball and listen to that wonderful V8 burble as you seamlessly feel yourself transported back to 1970.
