1970 HT GTS Monaro 350 V8 - Tuff HT ... (SOLD)

For sale this stunning multiple show winning HT GTS Monaro. Located in Perth, WA.

Show quality modified genuine 1970 HT GTS Monaro 186s, now running a strong 350 small block Chev with a 750DP carby, roller rockers, electronic ignition, Gilmer gear drive, large brass radiator, ceramic coated extractors and a 2" into 3" polished stainless steel exhaust. Gears are swapped via a Borg Warner Super T10 four speed gearbox and the rear wheels drive through a Ford 9-inch diff.

The car was restored approximately 20 years ago and has covered Australia on the back of a transporter participating in the last 5 Monaro Nationals where she picked up multiple trophy wins.

A well known Monaro on the show circuit, 'Tuff HT' is painted in acrylic Panorama Silver Metallic (aka VL Walkinshaw Silver) with Houndstooth black and white trim. This multiple show winning car has been built without regard to budget. The HT won best Show Car at the Monaro Nationals in 2004 at Bathurst and has attended Monaro Nationals at Loxton, SA, Ballarat, VIC, Warwick, Queensland and Busselton, WA where it also won Best Show car in 2012.

The Monaro features a detailed engine bay with loads of Enduroshine, Edelbrock highly polished aluminium, chrome, strategically placed mirrors and braided stainless hoses, and the battery has been relocated to the boot.

The interior is stock HT GTS totally retrimmed 15 years ago in black and white Houndstooth with new carpet, hood lining, standard dash, steering wheel, working gauges and working original AM radio. The gear knob has been custom made with the Monaro logo grooved into the top of the knob.

The restoration included fitting of all new glass, customising the boot with the Monaro logo emblazoned on the back seat support in the boot in polished stainless plate.

The HT is riding on highly polished custom made Billet Intro Twisted Vista and fitted to Roadstone 225/40ZR/18 front and 275/35ZR/18 on the rear.

This is one hell of a nice Monaro. A great car to drive. And a real head turner. Current owner since 2002 has enjoyed building this stunning show winner and is now ready to see it go to it's next lucky custodian.
