1970 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C3 454 Big Block ... (SOLD)

The third generation Corvette, based on the Mako Shark II concept car, was introduced for the 1968 model year and was in production until 1982. C3 coupes were the first to use T-top removable roof panels and featured extroverted styling, as well as a fresh face for big block fans: the 454. Dubbed the LS5, the 454 was a torque monster thanks to its longer stroke, producing 390 BHP and 500 lb-ft of torque with a 10.25:1 compression ratio and serving as the top-tier stump-puller for that generation of car.

For sale from the Northern Beaches, Sydney is a very tidy Cortez silver with Black trim C3 Corvette Stingray running a period correct high performance 454 Big Block and T-400 Automatic gearbox. A personal import from the USA 5 years ago with import paperwork, this Corvette is one of only 4,500 454 390 Hp Corvette's made in 1970 and one of the last of the big horsepower Corvettes.

The current mechanic owner has fully serviced the car, rebuilt the brakes with new calipers, hoses, master cylinder and pads, fitted a new exhaust system and replaced all the door and targa top rubbers. He has also replaced the vacuum system ensuring that the pop up headlights work perfectly.

The Cortez Silver paint is in very good condition having been restored in the USA prior to importation. The interior is all original except for a retrim to the seats in Black leather. All instrumentation works perfectly as does the factory fitted Air-conditioning and power steering. The Corvette is showing 69,331 Miles on the clock.

The Vette is riding on original 8x15" Rally rims with 245x60x15 Galaxy radial tyres.
