For sale is a very original looking 1969 Windsor powered XW GT Falcon Tribute built from a Reef Green and Black Trim donor XW GT. This GT has been built to the factory specs of the original car including the factory working integrated Air-Conditioning. Running a 351 4V Windsor V8, mated to the factory FMX T-Bar auto and 9" LSD diff. On display in our Sydney Showroom.

An older restoration, this XW GT has been with the current retired Hastings Deerings Ford mechanic for the last 29 years and was built using an accident and rust free Falcon 500 body. The original GT was written off and all parts transferred to the Falcon 500 body shell. The current owner purchased the car in 1996 as a part completed project and set about doing a full nut and bolt bare metal restoration of the car.

The Falcon was repainted in the original Reef Green Metallic acrylic paint and retrimmed in the original Black vinyl as per the GT compliance plate. The GT also features delete bonnet pins as per the original specifications. The all original GT dash, crash pad, steering wheel and instrument cluster were also transferred and are all in good working order. Somewhere along the line, the 6,000 tacho has been replaced with a 8,000 tacho. The seat trims, door cards and hood lining were all replaced at the same time. The rare factory integrated Air-Conditioning system that was optioned on the original XW GT was also transferred to the new body and is in working ice cold condition. There is also a remote electric boot release and Smith's rear window demister fitted.

The GT features a 351 Windsor 4V engine rebuilt in 2004 with standard pistons, rings and bore, stainless steel valves with a 600 4BBL Holley, standard inlet and exhaust manifold, mid range Rocket cam, standard dizzy, FOMOCO radiator, original battery clamps plus working Ford integrated Air-Conditioning with new hoses and compressor. The GT runs the standard cast iron exhaust manifold with 2" dual exhaust all the way through. The GT features the heavy duty 31/2" tailshaft, serviced FMX automatic and the 9" LSD 3.25:1 ratio.

The GT features XF late model aluminium calipers on the front and GT drums on the rear. Suspension has been lowered 50mm all round with new springs and reset factory GT leaf springs.

In the boot is a 36 gallon fuel tank, the correct fuel breather is in its place, as is the spare wheel tie down, spare 12 slot with new tyre and boot carpet. There is also a factory jack and wheel brace.

The GT is riding on genuine XW GT 12 slot rims with Bridgestone SF-340 Eager tyres.

To many GT aficionados, the Windsor 351 is the sweetest ride. Lighter than the Cleveland 351 and with it's wonderful propensity to rev, the Windsor GT has a great many fans.

This is a great opportunity to purchase a very good tribute GT with lots of genuine GT parts as well as the all important original GT compliance plate.

A real pleasure to drive. This is a super reliable turn key GT that you can afford to drive regularly.
