1968 XT GT Falcon
Unrestored two owner survivor GT treasure. Amazingly preserved Polar White XT GT running the all matching numbers 302 V8 Windsor and T-Bar auto transmission with original owner's log books. For sale from Perth, WA.
It is indeed rare nowadays to find such a good example of the XT GT Falcon. Originally sold through Eclipse Motors P/L, Adelaide to a Mr. Cyril Minge of Lyndoch, SA, the car had been retained by the original owner until 2019.
The body of this GT is in perfect rust and damage free condition. The car received a closed door respray in acrylic while the engine bay, door jambs and boot are still all original factory paint. The GT still presents in excellent condition to this day. The current owner, a serious collector, has owned the GT for the last 3 years and now regretfully is parting with this museum quality XT GT. He purchased the GT from the wife of the original owner following the passing of her husband.
Mechanically, the GT is running the all matching numbers 302 V8 Windsor with original Autolite carby, exhaust manifold and chrome sports air cleaner. All factory QC markings are still in place and the compliance plate, engine number, radiator support and shock tower numbers are clean and easily identified as day one stampings. The engine has never been removed from the engine bay of this GT.
The interior is in extraordinary condition with immaculate day one black trim, door cards, original carpets, original crash pad, parcel shelf and chrome around the instruments and GT steering wheel. The original owner had custom sheep skin covers fitted thus preserving the original factory vinyl trim. The GT has covered a genuine 171,425 miles from new and comes with the original log books, owners manual and a set of original keys. The XT also features the day one South Australian number plates RFH-055 as noted in the owner's log books.
The car still features the original Lucas Ranger spotlights in superb condition. And the XT is riding on the original 14x6" steel wheels with excellent GT chrome hub caps. An original spare, boot mat and tools are in the boot. Photos are included of the GT Falcon when the current owner collected the car from the original owners property.
This is a rare GT being one of only 317 automatic XT GTs built of the total 1,480 XT GT model run. The car has led a pampered life in the hands of only two owners and is now ready for the next owner to enjoy.
