Unrestored two owner survivor GT treasure. Amazingly preserved Zircon Green XT GT running the all matching numbers 302 V8 Windsor and T-Bar auto transmission with only 62,619 miles on the clock and original owner's log books. For sale from Northern NSW. Offers invited over $150,000. It is indeed rare nowadays to find such a good example of the XT GT Falcon. Originally sold through Hastings Deering, Ryde, NSW to a Mr. Fred. A. Hutchinson of Rhodes, NSW. During his ownership, the car was used for towing the family caravan and it was on the advice of his mechanic that the original manifold was swapped for a set of extractors and a dual exhaust system. The original manifold is still with the car and will be included in the sale so the GT can be returned to the single exhaust factory set up if required. The body of this GT is in perfect rust and damage free condition. The car was resprayed in acrylic when Mr. Hutchinson retired to Tamworth in the 1980s. It still presents in excellent condition to this day. The current owner, a Ford enthusiast since his childhood, has owned the GT for the last 18 years and now regretfully is parting with this museum quality XT GT. The current owner purchased the car from Mr. Hutchinson and at the time he was 85 years of age. Included in the sale (and in the photo gallery below) is an article which appeared in the Northern Daily Leader in July, 2003 which tells the whole story of the XT GT from day one. Mechanically, the GT is running the all matching numbers 302 V8 Windsor with original Autolite carby, Yellow topped coil, fan shroud and chrome sports air cleaner. All factory QC markings are still in place and the compliance plate with original rivets, radiator support and shock tower numbers are clean and easily identified as day one stampings. The current owner has covered approximately 10,000 miles in 18 years of ownership. He has recently had the radiator serviced and replaced all 4 shock absorbers (original shocks dated April, 1968 are included with the car). The engine has never been removed from the engine bay of this GT. The interior is in extraordinary condition with immaculate day one black trim, door cards, original carpets, perfect crash pad, parcel shelf and chrome around the instruments and lovely patina to the GT steering wheel. If you read the newspaper article feature on the GT, Mr. Hutchinson notes that he never let his kids eat in the car and always polished the interior with Mr. Sheen. The XT GT comes with the original log books, owners manual and XT GT Supplement, the new car sales brochure, a GT service supplement and two sets of original keys. The XT also features the day one NSW number plates EYE415 as noted in the owner's log books. And there is a letter of verification from Ford Australia dated in 1984 from Adrian Ryan noting the original build specifications of the car. The car still features the original Lucas Ranger spotlights in superb condition. And the XT is riding on the original 14x6" steel wheels with excellent GT chrome hub caps. An original spare and tools are in the boot. This is a rare GT being one of only 317 automatic XT GTs built of the total 1,480 XT GT model run. The car has led a pampered life in the hands of only two GT enthusiasts and is now ready for the next owner to enjoy. Call for further details. Full NSW registration until February, 2023 with the original NSW number plates included in the sale. Located in Northern NSW with the owner for your inspection.
