Now for sale this 1964 EH Special Station Wagon in Portsea Blue with Turquoise trim upgraded to a Premier spec tribute, located in our Sydney Showroom.

The EH was and still is an iconic Aussie classic. With 270,000 built it was also super popular. In their day, the big news over the previous EJ was the new powerplant. The legendary red-series engine, the product of a new plant at Fisherman’s Bend (Vic) replaced the old grey motor specifically to up the ante in the horsepower wars against Ford's Falcon and Chrysler's Valiant.

The EH was offered with the auto Hydra-Matic trans and with an upgraded three-speed manual transmission. GMH claimed 14 models across sedans, station wagons, utilities and panel vans. This was the first time a Premier badge was attached to a wagon and according to motoring journalists, the EH was quick, Holden tough and certainly elegant for the 1960s.

For sale is a nicely modded Portsea Blue 1964 EH Holden Special Station Wagon now running a fully rebuilt 186 engine with Holden head, mild cam, electronic ignition, a 350 Holley carby, reconditioned 3 on the tree manual  gearbox with reconditioned Master Cylinder and Slave Cylinder. Riding on widened original rims, the EH features renewed drum brakes all round, the original King Pin front end, reconditioned tailshaft, steering box, radiator, hoses, belts and air cleaner. Mechanically everything has been reconditioned or replaced with new items.

The EH has been repainted in the Premier only colour of Portsea Blue with white painted roof and has been re-trimmed in Premier Turquoise trim which included the rebolstering of the seats. On the inside there is new hood lining, a new one piece Holden carpet, new rubber kit, kick boards and the original wiring has been checked by an auto electrician. The rear cargo compartment features new flooring and padding.

On the outside in addition to new paint, the owner has splashed out on reconditioned bumpers front and rear, new headlights, door handles, mirrors, locks and ignition barrel. The gauges on the dash are a Nasco optional extra as seen in the S2 version featuring oil, temp, vacuum and amp gauges.

Riding on new tyres, new shocks and springs the EH has also benefited from new wheel bearings and diff seals.

In addition the EH has been fully rust proofed so it is ready to roar for another 61 years!

This EH drives like a dream. Dead straight on the freeway, keeping up with modern traffic and turning heads all the way.
