Geoff House of Powerhouse Ford in Cairns is making good headway with the full nut and bolt restoration of the factory K Code XY Falcon 500. We pick up with Geoff as the car is nearing the assembly stage.

According to Geoff, "The body is now all straight, primed, rubbed - ready to go. Time for the paint - Wild Violet PPG Deltron 2-pack. Five coats of colour, followed by three of clear.

Body is painted in two stages, and all swinging panels painted separately to ensure good, even coverage. It takes a little longer to assemble the car, but allows for a generally better finish, and minimises the chances of damage to panels throughout the process of assembling the rest of the car.
