According to David, "As a very young 18 year old, I had the privilege to attend the 'Grand opening' of Metro Ford in Spring Hill, back in November of 1971 (almost 36 yrs ago) !!!!

How "better" to herald this brand new dealership into central Brisbane -
than to have the Ford Factory XY Falcon GT-HO - Phase III of Allan Moffat's - 'fresh' from winning the very day before (a Sunday), the 250 mls Endurance race at the old Surfers Paradise circuit (the very same car that had demoralised the Bathurst 500 only one month before) leading home 5 other HO's in the top 6 placings!!

Enough of my ramblings - please forgive the quality of these slide scans, but they were taken with my parent's Kodak Instamatic (and also getting a tad old in the tooth - like myself)!!!
