Steve's (P)ride

Steve and his 15 year old son have restored this VL Plus Pak Brockie and hope one day to sit it next to a pristine VK Group A.

I would like your readers to view a classic Australian Muscle car that has been restored by me and my 15 year old son. This is the third VL Group A that I have owned, but as the years have gone past trying to find a good example of one has been near impossible to find. It took several months to find this one, it was a Melbourne based car with log books, which was imported back into Sydney.

Unfortunately the car required some attention. We basically had a lot of rust cut out, that is typical to the VL model, including repairing panels, both fiberglass and metal. Once the panels were repaired the car was repainted, brought back to original condition. The interior was also in need of attention, the seats were repaired, new carpet fitted, all plastic parts repainted, hood lining repaired and the steering wheel restored. As you can see the interior looks great. The guy we purchased the car from had a ridiculous sound system, which ended up in the garbage bin and we then replaced it with the original system that was fitted to the car back in 1986.

The car is currently fitted with 17inch HDT wheels, but we have decided to restore the original 16 inch MOMO?s, and fit them back on the car. The drive train needed some work, including the rebuilding of the gearbox brakes, and a full maintenance overhaul of the engine to bring it back to original.

This is the 6th Brock I?ve owned, and it would have to be the best one that I have owned in a long time. I hope with time, to pair this VL Group A up with a VK Group A.

My whole family has been around the Brock Commodores, for the past 20 years, and we have a great passion for the man and his machine. PETER BROCK. We will love him forever!!
