Around the shed
A lot has been happening around the shed this week. We're busy turning dreams into reality and were hoping that you are enjoying the journey. Let us know if we can help you detail or restore your car or build something special for you. Feel free to call AMCS on 02 9967 0220 to discuss your restoration plans.
Work has continued on Scott's Bold Blue XY GT Replica. Now painted the car will come back to the shed for fitout.
The Candy apple red XW GT is off being painted and we're busy restoring and rebuilding everything so it is ready to go back into the car when it arrives back to the shed. Check out the detail work in rebuilding the original heater box, rechroming and refinishing the dash, steering wheel and the recalibration of all guages. Meanwhile the original 351 Windsor has been rebuilt and all chrome has been restored and the original trim which is in particularly good condition is waiting to be refitted to the car.
A ZC Fairlane 351 was in for front end attention. The springs were replaced and detailed to factory spec, all upper control arm bushes and ball joints were changed and new colour coded shocks were sourced to suit the original type fine thread castle nut thread. AMCS also sourced and restored an Autolite alternator and a genuine used coil to fit to the factory A/C optioned Fairlane to ensure that all original items as per factory were reinstalled.
In addition we had another visit from the AMCE (Australian Muscle Car Experience) and also Luke West, Editor of Australian Muscle Car Magazine. The boys from AMCE brought up a yellow GT Replica, a SLR 5000, XE ESP and a VK Brocky for the drive day. In addition, Frank brought his stunning Cobra along and AMCS brought along an E38 big tank Charger and a VS GTS R Commodore. We certainly turned some heads on the road and all drivers had a range of driving experiences sampling the different types of Aussie muscle cars.
