AMCS Resto of XW GTHO Phase 2
AMCS has just started the restoration of a rare track red GTHO Phase 2. The car has good paint but all the running gear and suspension will be rebuilt and the engine and undercarriage fully detailed to factory specs. Stay tuned for more photos.
After almost 40 years on the road, out comes the HO Cleveland engine, big tail shaft and 9" diff. Each item will be rebuilt to factory specs and then all will receive painstaking attention to detail to recreate the original factory markings.
All the worn suspension will be rebuilt or replaced. The fuel tank will be reconditioned to repair a slight bump in the underside. All nuts, bolts, bushes and fittings will be reconditioned and cad plated.
The rare Phase 2 alternator has already been rebuilt as has the Phase 2 Carby and wiper motor.
The interior has been pulled out for dash rechroming, guage recalibration and new carpets.
Turn around time is programmed for approximately 8 - 10 weeks. We'll update the photos as the items come back for reassembly.
