Will's (P)ride
I thought I might submit a photo of my ride, seeing that I found it on your web-site, back in September 2005. It’s a genuine 1982 XE Ford Fairmont Ghia ESP. I love it! Kind regards, Will.
A little about the car … I found it on your web-site back in early September 2005. Flew up to Brisbane to have a closer look. It was perfect. Loved it. Bought it, and drove it home – hours of pure driving pleasure!
It’s fairly unmolested, aside from Pacemaker headers, 600cfm vac sec Holley, and an Edelbrock manifold. It has 132,000km (all genuine) on the clock. All the power options work, though given its age, it is in need of a little TLC in places. But as you can see from the pictures, it can still hold its own and draw attention.
Back in 1982, Ford were selling the last of the Cleveland power cars, and this is one example of the 178, 5.8L ESP’s Ford produced. It’s not in concourse condition, but it holds its own pretty well. As a welcome bonus, the car has basically doubled in value since I bought it. It’s been to two show ‘n’ shines so far, and more to come.
Cheers,
Will.
